Critical Appraisal: First thing in Research
Abstract
A good research begins with knowledge of careful literature search because a good quality references enhances the quality of our own research paper.Hence it is essential for the researcher to learn how to do critical appraisal of a research paper.
A Critical Appraisal is a systemic process used to identify the strength and weakness of a research article in order to assess the usefulness and validity of research findings.Research has a design and methodology to address the research question. Hence we must follow the process of systematically examining research evidence to assess its validity, results and relevance before using it to form a decision.
Critical Appraisal is an essential skill to learn before embarking on the research ,and requires thorough understanding of its components and regular habit of reading articles and scrutiny. Ultimately it will help researcher to prepare a good research article which has validity and relevance .
